DESCRIPTION:
A medicare certified hospice that has been serving terminally ill patients and their families since 1982. Providing palliative care through a team of dedicated physicians, nurses, social workers, home-health aides, chaplains and volunteers, Hospice focuses on quality of life instead of quantity of life. Through use of sophisticated pain and symptom control measures, Hospice strives to help terminally ill patients remain in their own home, where research shows most prefer to be. Family and friends as well as members of the medical community may make referrals to hospice. Bereavement support and counselling are other important parts of the Hospice program. Grinnell Regional Hospice is a member of the Iowa Hospice Organization and the National Palliative Care & Hospice.
HOURS:
Office hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Staff on call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for patients
